A while ago I asked about NOT sending emails for recurring invoices to some of my clients, because I would charge these clients differently. Someone (or Hillel, I don’t remember) suggested adding a bogus email address as a contact, so invoices are generated but would not reach the client.
That works but I noticed something else. Invoices are always associated with a particular contact instead of the client. So if I have Alice and Bob as contacts of my client Acme Inc., and an invoice is issued to Alice, Bob wouldn’t see it if he would log in to his client portal.
That makes some sense to me but… if I now add a bogus contact to block invoice sending, neither Alice nor Bob would see any future invoices.
Also, why only contacts have access to the customer portal instead of clients? I mean… There could be a link so that anyone at Acme Inc could see all invoices, whether they were issued to Alice or Bob.
By the way, I know I can fully disable email sending, but I would like to do this on a case by case basis.

By the way, and what about invoices being associated with one contact or another? Is there a way, via a script or SQL query, to automatically associate all invoices with all contacts of a client?
Eg. Acme Inc has 3 invoices, two issued to Alice and one to Bob, I would like to take these 3 and associate them all both to Alice and Bob. Mind you, I have over 4k invoices 😉September 14, 2018 at 12:40 pm #16208
It should be possible with the API or SQL query. For a contact to be linked to an invoice a records needs to exist in the invitations table linking to the two records.September 13, 2019 at 8:40 pm #21890
How can I currently disable automatic email to be sent and invoice to be generated just for one invoice and not globally? For e.g. I end a cooperation with one client and I would like to stop generating and sending invoices to them.
From what I understand the Auto-Bill feature is to charge their credit card and not to stop sending invoices. If that is the case there is a wrong translation into the Czech language which might be confusing.

From what I understand Reminders are sent to clients that have not paid their invoices

Just for the sake of clarity I am only talking about how to disable recurring invoices to be a) generated and b) sent to one particular client.
Recurring invoices are not considered to be reminders in terms of the app logic, right? Or perhaps I am wrong and the app considers recurring invoices to be “reminders”?
If that is the case then recurring invoices (= “reminders”) will be disabled by the checkbox you have mentioned above. And email reminders (= not recurring invoices) are still going to be sent to the client IF he is due with one of the previously generated invoices (those before I stopped them being generated and sent using “reminders” checkbox in the clients section)?
Note: In one of my posts above (SEPTEMBER 13, 2019 AT 8:40 PM) I have made an error and typed “one invoice” instead of “one client”. I hope that this is not the cause of our missunderstanding.
